Vitosha Boulevard, Sofia’s main pedestrian street, runs from St Nedelya Cathedral to the National Palace of Culture, with Vitosha mountain rising at its end. It is the city’s favourite place to stroll, shop and sit on a terrace.
A street with a view
On clear days, Vitosha mountain fills the view at the end of the boulevard, snow-capped in winter.
Shops and cafés
The boulevard is lined with fashion shops and cafés and restaurants with terraces, busy from morning to late evening.
At the end of Sofia’s main street stands a mountain.
NDK
At the southern end, the National Palace of Culture and its park host concerts, fairs and festivals.
Our advice: walk the boulevard from St Nedelya towards NDK in the early evening, when the light turns the mountain pink, and stop at a terrace on the way.
